Longreach Development Applications

Wall Planning Group enjoyed working in Longreach to support locals and businesses in obtaining approvals for their projects. We have negotiated approvals for the following projects:


Concrete and Landscape Business

A successful concrete and landscaping business that offers quarry material and pre-mix concrete has been in operation for over 2 decades in Longreach. A number of objections were received during the public notification process. WPE provided a response outlining how the existing use provides a valuable resource and useful service to businesses in Longreach and surrounds. The operation supports the Longreach economy and employment market and fulfils the strategic intent of the industry zone. Approval was achieved within 3.5 months.


Electrical Business

WPG obtained approval on behalf of an existing electrical business in Longreach. A Development Permit for Material Change of Use (Impact Assessment) and Reconfiguring a Lot (1 into 2 lots) to create an industrial warehouse to accommodate the expanding business was issued within 3 months.



Caravan Park

A client had a vision to create a caravan park (150 caravan and camping sites, 7 amenity blocks, 2 camp kitchens, gardens / playgrounds and BBQ areas and kiosk) that capitalised on the views, access and amenity to the beautiful Thomson River. The site was not without its challenges!

WPG obtained land access and road opening from the State Government and addressed the other site issues, including flood hazard management and stormwater. Local councillors were very supportive of the proposal and recognised the benefits of adding to the tourism assets within the region.

WPG obtained development approval and assisted with the negotiation of the infrastructure agreement for road construction and water supply.
